【饞嘴分享】永康街的高記 KaoChi at YongKang Street

永康街高記 KaoChiIf anyone asked me that what are the food he/she must try when visiting Taiwan, I usually give a long list of things. And one of them is "Xiaolongbao" (or steamed bun / dumpling) even though its origin is Shanghai. Usually I would recommend foreigners to go to Din Tai Fung because of its name although I’ve only been there once in my life. Why? Because there are too many Shanghai restaurants serving similar or even better xiaolongbao.

如果有外國人問我,到台北時,哪些東西是必定要嚐試的?我一定會開出長長的清單,囊括許多好吃的小吃及鼎泰豐的小籠包。為什麼是鼎泰豐呢?因為他有名,對於外國人來說,也比較安心。但老實說,我自己也只去過那一百零一次,畢竟對常上江浙餐館的我來說,有太多地方可以做出跟鼎泰豐類似、甚至更好吃的小籠包。
Honestly I had never missed xiaolongbao when in Taiwan. But, after being in Europe three years? I do miss them. Therefore when my friends from university were looking for the place, I requested to go any place where we can have nice xiaolongbao. At the end, KaoChi at YongKang Street in Taipei was selected.

這也就是為什麼還在台灣時,我從未有過那種一定要吃小籠包的衝動。但,待在歐洲三年後的我,還是有那麼點兒懷念小籠包的滋味。於是,當大學同學在考慮聚餐地點時,我不禁提出小小想要吃小籠包的要求,最後,永康街高記便成了我們的聚餐地點。

Since taste is something very personal, I will only share the pictures below and address non of my opinion. Would I go again? As I said before, I knew too many restaurants that offer xiaolongbao with similar quality; therefore, I would prefer trying other places in the future.

我總認為味覺是相當個人的事,因此我只會把當天拍的照片貼在下面,而不會贅述任何我個人品味的感受。至於我會不會再到高記去吃小籠包?嗯,就像先前說的,我知道台北有許多江浙餐館都能夠做出相當水準的小籠包,所以當下回兒回台灣、而我也懷念小籠包滋味時,我想我會選擇其他餐館試試呢!
